The Chut people mainly live by hunting and gathering or shifting cultivation (Sach group). Until 1954, many groups of Chut people still lived in caves. They did not have weaving skills and did not have traditional costumes. Their costumes came from exchanges with the Viet and Lao communities. Men were shirtless and wore loincloths, women wore skirts. Today, all Chut people dress like the Viet.
