The Nung people originated from Guangzhou (China) and migrated to Vietnam around the 17th-19th century. The Nung people live by farming on swidden fields. They develop many handicrafts: weaving, forging, making tiles, making paper... The Nung people's costumes are mainly made of indigo-dyed fabric. Women wear five-panel shirts with wide sleeves, collars with pieces of fabric of different colors, and a piece of fabric is covered at the wrists and lotus leaves. Men wear shirts with standing collars, slits at the chest, and rows of fabric buttons.
