According to the legend of the Pa Then people, around the 17th century, their ancestors migrated with the Dao people from Than Lo (China) to Vietnam by sea. The Pa Then people have a weaving profession that is favored by neighboring ethnic groups. The main color in the traditional costumes of Pa Then women is red - the color of the fire bird in their beliefs. Women have long hair, wrap scarves around their heads, the scarves have red and yellow tassels. Women's shirts have no collars and no buttons, the back is longer than the front, and consist of many pieces of fabric meticulously sewn together.
