The Pu Peo ethnic group is recognized as one of the first settlers in the northernmost region of Vietnam. They have relatively advanced agricultural techniques. Pu Peo men usually wear indigo short-breasted shirts and trousers of the same color. On holidays, men wrap turbans and wear indigo or white long-sleeved shirts. Pu Peo women have long hair wrapped around their heads, pinned with combs or wear square scarves covering their hair. They wear two layers of clothing, the outer shirt has a slit at the chest, the sleeves, placket, and hem have many decorative patterns.
