The Stieng people live mainly by growing rice, on fields or in wet rice fields. They often store things in crafted dried gourds. Normally, Stieng men wear loincloths and go shirtless. Women wear shirts and wrap skirts. The skirts are usually long skirts wrapped high above the chest, the lower edge reaching the ankles, or short skirts wrapped around the waist, worn with shirts.
